TJ Coughlin

TJ Coughlin is a writer / director / producer from Trumbull, Connecticut. He holds a bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Maryland and an MFA in Film and Television Production from Loyola Marymount University, currently residing in Los Angeles.

TJ has experience in both corporate studio Hollywood and independent film. He worked in production finance for The Walt Disney Company, produced the indie film ‘Hot Cheetos For Layla’ and served as assistant director on Season 6 of ‘Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction’.

As a writer, TJ’s comedy screenplays have garnered awards at festivals like the New York International Screenplay Awards. TJ thrives on combining his business and artistic talents, excelling at resource-efficient filmmaking, with the goal of creating heartfelt comedy feature films highlighting maturing adolescent characters battling societal norms and taboos.
